We are looking for a Senior Supplier Quality Engineer to join our procurement team in Salo.
Job description
The Senior Supplier Quality Engineer is responsible for ensuring that all materials and components supplied to the plant meet the required quality standards. This role involves supporting production lines to ensure smooth operations, tracking supplier performance and implementing corrective actions. During new projects or engineering changes the implementation of APQP methodology for serial production is owned, planning and conducting all types of audits with a focus on process audits, and ensuring overall quality compliance with plant-specific standards. The Senior Supplier Quality Engineer collaborates equally with central teams during new product development to ensure consistent quality standards and utilizes flexible resourcing to address quality issues promptly, maintaining open communication with suppliers to ensure alignment on quality expectations. Additionally, the Senior Supplier Quality Engineer shares responsibility for PPAP completion and implementation with the Supplier Development Engineer.
Key responsibilities include:
- Maintaining the targets of the supplier quality department of assigned components like PPMs and Claims
- Leading auditor for supplier audits assessing the compliance according to the quality standards, and identifying areas for improvement
- Being in charge of assigned suppliers for development during new projects using APQP methodology on top of the serial suppliers responsibility in assigned plant
- Supplier Performance Tracking by Monitoring and evaluating supplier performance
- Using problem solving methodology to support and solve the issues with assigned suppliers during incoming inspection or in the production lines
- Support on multidisciplinary teams as requested.
- During plant audits, supporting in preparation and actively during audits representing supplier quality department.
- Supporting in incoming inspection area making sure all components are being checked according to the instructions and with the necessary measurement devices.
- Participation in new projects phases in order to support assigned suppliers during development or support on assigned tasks.
To succeed in this position, we hope you have:
- A bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, e.g. procurement or supply chain management
- Knowledge of software and tools, such as SAP, Minitab, or similar systems
- Proficiency in using problem-solving methodologies like 8D, A3, and root cause analysis
- Experience in supplier quality or quality in the automotive industry, knowledge of APQP and supplier development
- Auditor certification (e.g., ISO 9001, IATF 16949 and VDA6.3) and quality tools (e.g., FMEA, SPC, MSA)
- Fluent spoken and written English, Finnish or German is an asset
